On Saturday Anjali and I did a day trip to the beautiful, historical, breath taking Prague. By far the most captivating city I have seen to date. With an early morning arrival, we had a full day in the city to explore, and barely scratched the surface.
Our morning began at Wenceslas Square in New Town. New for the time at least since it was founded in 1348 by Charles IV. This is the area to do some serious shopping while on your trip.
With a limited amount of time we made our way up to Prague Castle to start our day.
St. Vitus Cathedral
Seeing this church and learning all the history that surrounds it, was by far one of the highlights of Prague.
Changing of the guard at the palace. Did not get to see the whole ceremony, so of course there is one of many reasons to go back.
The view of Prague from here cannot be missed.
Afterwards we made our way down Charles Bridge heading for Old Town.
Isn’t this city just stunning?
For lunch we ate at Mistral Cafe and it was to die for. The food was so delicious. When I take James to Prague, this will be a must stop for us.
Chicken and beef noddle soup, pork tenderloin in mushroom sauce and potato dollops, and the most divine tiramisu ever.
After our lunch we spent the afternoon wondering the Old Town Square and the Christmas market before heading back to our group to return to Germany.
Prague will bewitch you from the moment you enter the city. This precious city it will stick with you for a lifetime. If you ever make it to Europe, Prague is a must see. Even if for just a day, it will be with you forever.
